When I was small, I used to see that my grandparent uses to used onion as medicine to fight against flu or cold by hanging a bunch of onions outside the door of our house. Did you ever think you would turn to onion to fight the flu or cold? I never thought I would either! This also includes that if you keep the cut onions for long then possibilities are there, that the cut onions will consume bacteria which may harmful to the health if uses. Onions may have several health benefits, mostly due to their high content of antioxidants and sulfur-containing compounds.
Onions can also be consumed when immature before the bulb reaches full size. They are then called scallions, spring onions, or summer onions.
There are loads and loads of information on the healing benefits of onions when you start searching. Using onions for the above reasons is nothing new. Process of cooking Onions: Normally, when you cook onions, it takes a long time to get cook so the best way to cook onion fast is to add a pinch of salt in it so that the process of cooking goes fast. Secondly, I have seen most people make an onion gravy by frying the onions. But I have seen in many stars hotel that the idea behind classic gravy is by boiling the onions instead of frying the onion. Boiling the onion and making gravy enhance good taste, aroma and withhold the medicinal properties. Onions are commonly used as a flavoring or side dish, onions are a staple food in many cuisines. They can be baked, grilled, fried, roasted, sautéed, powdered, or eaten raw.
